The Writer

Suzanna Ford a/k/a Susan J. Bickford
After an injury forced Suz off the scaffolding and into a recuperative vacation from her decorative arts business, so she pulled out an old manuscript she'd started and shelved years before. Intrigued, she needed to know what happened to the characters and reclaimed her abandoned dream of writing fiction.

Settling on a sub genre is difficult for Suzanna Ford. She writes contemporary heroines who find themselves influenced by the past, sometimes to the point of traveling there. But a common thread in all her work is strong heroines and heroes who face untenable choices, forced to choose what seems the wrong thing for all the right reasons. Her love stories are always driven by long-held family secrets and lots of angsty sexual tension.

A native Nashvillian and four-time Golden Heart® Finalist, Suz is happiest plotting new characters' adventures in their worlds while covered in paint, brush in hand. She shares her painting expertise at her shop, The Painted Dragonfly, an eclectic emporium in historic Nolensville, Tennessee. A member of Music City Romance Writers and their current treasurer, she embraced the creative life after leaving behind a career as corporate lobbyist and government affairs manager for a Fortune 300 company.
